Primary Years K-4

Extending the curriculum

On the Primary campus, our students in Prep, Kindergarten, Years 1 to 4 are provided with hands-on, purposeful, real-world approaches to their learning with an ever-increasing variety of opportunities to find what sparks joy for them!

We extend the NSW Primary curriculum through our expansive co-curricular program, a focus on literacy and parent involvement in the learning journey, our extensive digital technology and Italian programs, and community opportunities for involvement in social justice initiatives that link to our learning. Digital Technology lessons begin in Prep. We also teach Italian in all Primary Years beginning in Prep.

Our co-curricular experiences recognise that as parents’ lives become increasingly busy and Sydney traffic continues to be less and less kind to our time, the need for extra activities to take place at school is paramount. Our Primary Years children have the opportunity to engage in their individual pursuits after completing their classroom learning for the day. These pursuits include music and dance lessons, tennis practice, robotics and coding, engineering groups, science clubs, chess, and many more. We also over Before School and After School Care through our OOSH program.

The environment we create invites all to see what can be, if they are willing to grab the possibilities.

Academically we focus on the essential learning of literacy and numeracy, building strong foundations for later success at school and beyond. We have a learning partnership with families who are invited into the classroom for Learning Walks and onto campus to celebrate community events including masses and liturgies in the chapel, the colour fun run, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, St Dominic’s Day, teddy bears picnic as well as Speech Day, Sports Awards, spectacular concerts and other performances.

We create an environment where girls and boys imagine, explore, with wonder and awe.
