Santa Sabina College is an independent Catholic school which is owned by the Congregation of Dominican Sisters of Eastern Australia and the Solomon Islands.
It was incorporated in 1987 as a Company Limited by Guarantee, with the Sisters of the Leadership Team being the Members of the Company. The College is managed by a Board of Directors, who are appointed by the Members.
The Board of Directors has a strong commitment to preserving and fostering the Dominican ethos and values upon which the College was founded, and to promoting the Mission of the College as a Catholic school.
The Board is assisted in its work by a number of Sub-Committees which meet regularly. The Principal of the College is the Chief Executive Officer to whom the Board delegates responsibility for the day-to-day management of the College and its enterprises.

Steven Graham – Board Chair
Steven is currently a Board Member at Brigidine College, St Ives and has held previous positions as both Board member and Chair at our sister Dominican school, St Lucy’s at Wahroonga. His two daughters attended Santa Sabina College: Kate completed Year 12 in 1999 and Louise finished in 2001. Steven has been the CEO of Australian Energy Markets Commission and is a former Board member of Energy Consumers Australia. Steven says he is ‘pleased to have the opportunity to make a contribution to the team committed to developing young people so when they leave Santa Sabina they are able to embrace and love others, continue to grow as individuals through lifelong learning, serve God’s people both here in Australia and overseas and provide leadership in whatever roles they take on in their life.’
Peter’s connection to the College began when his daughter joined the college in 2016. He joined the Property and Finance Committee in 2017, and became a Director in 2020. Peter brings over 25 years of experience in the construction, property and facilities sectors and is currently the owner of a client-side project management firm servicing several independent and Catholic schools across Sydney. Peter has extensive experience in strategic asset management, capital works and master planning.
James Coyne LLB
James is the son, brother and parent of Santa Sabina educated women. He has been a member of the Risk and Finance Committees of the Board since 2016 and was appointed to the Board in in 2017. James’ professional career includes over 25 years as an in-house lawyer and governance professional with ASX listed entities in the infrastructure, construction and property sectors.
Jane Curran MA BA DipEd MACEL
Jane joined the College Board in 2020 bringing to it her experience of over 40 years in education culminating in her most recent tenure as principal and board secretary for a girls’ independent Catholic school in Sydney. Jane has worked in both the NSW and independent sectors and has represented Catholic independent schools most recently on the Education Policy Committee for the Federation of Religious Institute and Ministerial PJP Catholic School Authorities in NSW and ACT.
Sabina Donnolley BEc CA CTA JP GAIDC
Sabina is a Chartered Accountant and partner in accounting practice and has over 30 years’ experience in finance and taxation. Sabina was appointed to the Board in 2017 having previously Chaired the Future Funding Committee, a subcommittee of the Board. She is also a board member of the Foundation. Sabina is an ex-student and daughter of an ex-student.
Kathy Meleady BSc MBA
Kathy was involved as a parent of two girls attending Santa Sabina between 2005 and 2015; becoming re-acquainted again in 2019 when she joined the Finance and Property Committee. Kathy joined the Board in 2020. She holds qualifications in science, holds a Master’s of Business Administration and has an Honorary Appointment in the Faculty of Health at University of Technology Sydney. Kathy has held senior positions in both state and national government agencies, and was awarded a Public Service Medal in 2006. She is currently leading work implementing national patient safety and quality programs in health care, which also involves developing policy, strategic planning and inter-agency relations. Kathy’s university role relates to the areas of clinical and corporate governance.
Sr Jill Shirvington OP
Jill is an ex-student of Santa Sabina, a former teacher at del Monte and a Dominican Sister. She has been a teacher, Religious Education coordinator and school principal in NSW and Victoria. She moved into adult faith formation as a parish pastoral associate and then as a Diocesan Co-ordinator of Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults in both the Melbourne and Broken Bay Dioceses. She was also Academic Advisor for the Broken Bay Institute. Currently Jill supports staff across Santa Sabina College with the practice of meditation and coordinates the Prayer Companion Program with Sisters and HSC students. Jill has been a Board member since July 2018.
Dr Christopher Walker BHA (Hons) MPP PhD Grad Cert University Learning and Teaching
Christopher has been a Director since 2014. He is the Associate Dean, Australia and New Zealand School of Government and also holds an academic appointment at the University of New South Wales. He has held senior management and executive positions in numerous public sector agencies including health, transport and the Department of Premier & Cabinet. Christopher’s daughter graduated from Santa Sabina in 2013.
