Head of Religious Education 6-12 – Re-advertised

The College is seeking an experienced and passionate professional to lead a high performing Religious Education Team Years 6-12.
The successful candidate will: 
  • support the Catholic Dominican Mission of the College and promote the prayer life of the College
  • work closely with the Head of Mission and Identity, and the Primary Religious Education Coordinator to promote the religious and spiritual life of the College, and social justice imperatives
  • demonstrate evidence of engagement in the broader Religious Education learning community
  • demonstrate outstanding leadership skills including the ability to mentor, guide and advise staff and students
  • demonstrate expert understanding of curriculum requirements for Religious Education in NSW
  • be a strategic and collaborative practitioner who can work with a range of teams
  • be an exemplary teacher with demonstrated understanding of contemporary pedagogy
  • lead the development, implementation and evaluation of Religious Education Policies and Programs for Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting across Years 6-12

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme experience would be advantageous.

Italian Teacher – (0.4) Temporary/Part-time

The College is seeking to appoint an innovative and dynamic part-time (0.4) teacher of Italian for Primary Years from Tuesday 29 January to Tuesday 25 June 2019.

Speech and Drama Tutor – Primary Year (Part-time)

The College is seeking to appoint an experience Speech and Drama Tutor for 2-3 days per week to join our thriving extra-curricular program, teaching Primary Years.  

The successful applicant will:

  • have Speech and Drama teaching qualifications (ADPA or above)

  • be experienced in teaching the AMEB Speech and Drama syllabus, including experience with the administration of examinations preferably in a school environment

  • have experience in entering students into and preparing them for eisteddfods

  • be flexible, enthusiastic and work collaboratively with colleagues

  • be experienced in working with younger children

  • possess strong interpersonal skills

  • have capacity to support the College mission and strategy and be able to contribute to the broader life of the College

Sports Administrator

The College is seeking to appoint an experienced Sports Administrator to join our highly successful Sports Team. The Sports Administrator is responsible for the coordination, development and deliver of a wide range of co-curricular sports programs to the students. The position reports to the Director of Sport and works closely with other team members in growing the student participation and improved performance in sport.

The successful applicant will:
  • assist with the development and implementation of sports programs across the College
  • promote sports programs to the students
  • coordinate sports activities including Saturday sport
  • engage and supervise coaches and umpires
  • liaise with parents, students and all other key stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of the College’s sporting programs
  • publish and report sports results The applicant will possess the following skills and expertise:
  • Senior First Aid qualification
  • excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • proven experience with databases
  • highly developed organisational and time management skills
  • tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or sports experience
  • proven experience in a variety of sporting areas
  • proven experience and commitment to physical fitness and development
  • previous experience in event coordination is highly desirable Experience in the coordination of Netball programs would be a significant advantage.
This position will be required to work five days per week with the expectation of weekend sport attendance. The position is under the Educational Services (Schools) General Staff Award and is for 48 weeks per year. Essential Selection Criteria:
The successful applicants will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Highly effective teaching skills and a clear understanding of modern pedagogical practices
  • An ability to build strong working relationships with staff and students and work effectively as part of a team

Children’s Services Traineeship (12 month appointment)

Santa Sabina College operates an early education centre (for children under 5 years) and an out of school hours care centre (for children between 5-12 years) and is offering traineeships in both services. Applicants must be eligible for enrolment in either the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or Certificate IV in School Aged Education and Care.

Desirable skills include: experience with children, demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others, well-established written and verbal communication skills, initiative and motivation to learn.

Applicants are also expected to have an understanding of, and commitment to, the Dominican ethos of the College.
