2023 Music Tutors

Position: Casual employment

Commencement date: 1 February 2023

Santa Sabina College is seeking experienced and passionate professionals to join our  highly regarded and expanded  Instrumental Music Program.  Instrumental tutors are needed for a variety of instruments including Orchestral Percussion, Flute, Clarinet, Violin, Viola and Cello in a casual employment capacity. 

The successful candidate will:

  • support the Catholic Dominican Mission of the College and promote the prayer life of the College
  • have the ability to thrive in a variety of settings, including individual, group and ensemble tuition and as a performer in an array of ensembles
  • work in collaboration with all music staff at the College to drive high musical standards and engagement
  • be able to teach students of various levels of skills and abilities, from the beginner to HSC/IBDP
  • use a variety of pedagogical approaches with students
  • be a role model for all aspects of learning and performing on an instrument
  • have confidence in age appropriate behaviour management 

Essential Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications (or near completion) in Music and/or Music Education
  • experience in private instrumental and group tuition
  • experience performing at a very high level on an instrument listed above
  • a current Working with Children Check (WWCC)

2023 Sports Administrator

We offer co-education on our P-4 Del Monte Campus and girls only on our  5-12 Santa Sabina Campus. Our outdoor education campus, Tallong, is located on 97 hectares in the Southern Highlands. Our Early Education Centre (Mary Bailey House) and Out of School Hours (OOSH) services are located in the grounds of the Primary (Del Monte) Campus. 

Santa Sabina College is seeking an enthusiastic sports administrator  to help support the coordination of our sports program throughout the year.

Position Permanent Full time (48 weeks)

Commencement date: 23 January 2023
The Sports Administrator is responsible for the coordination, development and delivery of a wide range of co-curricular sports programs and assisting in the overall responsibility of convening specific sports for students across the College. This position reports to the Director of Sport and Co-Curricular Activities and works closely with other team members in growing student participation and improvement of performance in sport at the College. The Sports Administrator will join our highly successful Sports Department. 

This position will be required to work five days per week with the expectation of weekend sport attendance.

The successful candidate will:

  • support the Catholic Dominican Mission of the College 
  • demonstrate outstanding leadership skills including the ability to mentor, guide and advise staff and students
  • be a strategic and collaborative practitioner who can work with a range of teams 
  • keep accurate records of incidents and injuries and report to the Director of Sport and Co-curricular Activities
  • have a sound knowledge of sports coordination and administration
  • support  the development, implementation and evaluation of sport policies and programs

Coaching qualifications would be highly advantageous.

2023 Property and Facilities Manager 

Position: Permanent Full-Time
Commencing: January 2023

Santa Sabina College is seeking an experienced professional to join us in the permanent full-time position of Property and Facilities Manager.

This is a dynamic and exciting role that will oversee the management of property and maintenance services across the College campuses which are located at Strathfield and Tallong in the Southern Highlands. The College is to be consistently well serviced, maintained and presented to the highest standard while compliant with legislative requirements and safe work practices through the effective management and supervision of the Property Team and external contractors.

The Property and Facilities Manager is the Chief Fire Warden and is responsible for operational security of the premises which may require after hours contact. The role is responsible for the procurement and management of College assets including furniture, plant and equipment in line with financial budgets and is actively involved in the operational aspects of capital works. This includes the oversight and maintenance of all buildings and grounds, security, fire, cleaning, waste management, and minor refurbishment projects.

The successful candidate will:

  • support the Catholic Dominican Mission of the College and promote the prayer life of the College
  • have demonstrated experience working in a complex stakeholder management environment
  • have TAFE or trade qualifications in relevant discipline or at least 5 years’ experience in project management, facilities management, property management or similar discipline desirable
  • possess the technical skills relating to the efficient running of large buildings including a broad knowledge of grounds, maintenance, building repair, alterations, utilities and all related areas
  • have experience with heritage buildings (desirable)
  • hold a valid and current NSW driver licence (desirable)
  • have experience of managing budgets and delivering desired project results on time and on budget
  • demonstrate in-depth knowledge of legislation and regulation surrounding property management
  • be solutions-oriented with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • demonstrate excellent organisational and management skills, and the ability to prioritise own time and that of the property staff
  • possess excellent interpersonal skills including oral and written communication
  • demonstrate proven success as a team leader with demonstrated outcomes
  • possess proficient ICT skills across a range of platforms and programs
  • maintain membership of professional organisations associated with the work of property management desirable
  • ideally be a qualified Workplace Health and Safety Officer and Fire Safety Officer or show willingness to undertake the relevant training.

Coaches are responsible for the coaching and supervision of students as part of the sports programs at Santa Sabina College, supporting the Director of Sports and Co-curricular Activities in the coaching and skill development of students.

Outdoor Education Instructors

We are seeking Cert III/Cert IV qualified outdoor education instructors to work at our Tallong Campus in the NSW Southern Highlands. Tallong programs are primarily centre-based with overnight hikes/campouts conducted entirely on the 97-hectare site.
