Tallong

Santa Sabina College’s unique outdoor education campus in the NSW Southern Highlands – Tallong – is integral to the education of all Gioia House students. Years 5 and 6 have annual residential camps here, learning to go beyond their comfort zones, build confidence and have fun in the outdoors with their friends.

Programs at Tallong Campus promote interaction with the natural world, with the aim of developing understandings of our relationships with the environment and others, while learning about ourselves.

Outdoor Education programs at Tallong Campus are holistic and experiential. They seek to contribute to a sustainable community which cares for the earth.

A ‘plan-do-review’ process encourages students to be reflective so that they can apply their learning to future activities. Collaboration, problem solving, communication and team work are core skills which are developed through the programs. Students develop appreciation for their own and others’ gifts and are encouraged to value diversity. Tallong has its own website with further information: https://tallong.ssc.nsw.edu.au/
