From November 7, 2015 – January 21, 2017, Dominicans worldwide will celebrate the 800th Jubilee of the approval of the Order of Preachers by Pope Honorius III in 1216.
Today at Santa Sabina our students and staff acknowledged the beginning of the celebrations. Gathering in the Piazza, our community came together in prayer with everyone receiving a commemorative jubilee pin.
We also unveiled a Staff made by TAS teacher Mr Scott Henderson representing Dominic’s itinerancy. Dominic traveled the world taking the message of the Gospel with him and this challenges us to take the good news of the Gospel with us today. The Staff will visit other Dominican schools around Australia over the course of the celebrations.
