Celebrating the opening and blessing of new primary rotunda, playground and Rosary Garden

On Monday 16 June 2025, College Principal Paulina Skerman warmly welcomed special guests including members of the College Board, DEA Trustees, the Dominican Sisters, our generous donors, and members of our broader Santa community as we celebrated the official opening and blessing of our new primary rotunda, playground, and Rosary Garden. Fr John Hayes blessed the space and dedicated it to be a place of joy, peace, and belonging, now and for generations of Santa Sabina students to come.

These new facilities for the Primary Campus are the realisation of the beginning of the College’s Masterplan which will see the transformation of learning, sports, play and gathering spaces on our campuses, both sides of The Boulevarde. On our Primary Campus, the new undercover multipurpose rotunda can now be used for assemblies, sporting activities and play. The unique Rosary Garden, generously supported by donations from members of the Santa Sabina community, was conceived to show the journey of prayer and its importance in our Dominican tradition. It is a perfect place for contemplation and for play. The new playground offers the best play equipment for jumping and playing and is surrounded by adventure gardens inspiring children to enjoy nature and the outdoors. These play and gathering spaces are building the students’ gross and fine motor skills along with core strength and a sense of adventure.
