At lunchtime on the 4th of March, students across the Santa Sabina campuses participated in the annual Schools Clean Up Day. Our College has been involved in this event for the last 4 years and to celebrate our 5th year the Mayor of Burwood Council came along to roll up his sleaves and assist with the clean up. On the secondary campus, it was great to see students take pride in their school by giving up their lunch break to sift through gardens, fences perimeters and driveways where rubbish has a tendency to accumulate. Within just 15 minutes, the campus was restored to the immaculate state that we all found it in when we returned from the summer break. Across the Boulevarde, our youngest members of the Santa Sabina community also put on their gloves and went to work finding rubbish on the Del Monte and Mary Bailey House grounds. In their mission to sweep the grounds clean, the Mary Bailey House children were fascinated by the range of items found ranging from feathers and empty containers to bits of craft and stationary. Well done to all participants and lets hope this event reminds us all of the importance of taking care of the spectacular gardens and grounds that we are blessed with.
