Are Are Pan-pipers

The Santa Sabina Community has been honoured to have the presence of pan-pipers of the Are Are people from the Solomon Islands perform at our St Dominic’s Day Concert and at the Primary campus over the last week.

The Are Are people are rich in culture and have a long tradition of playing pan-pipes. They want their children to keep their own music and dance, as well as learn about the wider world.

The fourteen members have had an enormous and positive impact on the community and helped grow understanding within our community about the Solomon Islands.

“Year one and the whole campus are still moving!

We have just looked up the Solomon Islands on the World map. The students are very keen to support this cause. It has made it very real for the students. It is wonderful to see the principled and caring young people we have here at Santa Sabina College. “
