Improvisation and Theatresports develop the creative confidence of young actors to be risk takers and to explore the art of storytelling. Year 8 Drama was lucky enough to work all day on 26 March 2021, with Impro. Australia, the home of Theatresports® in Sydney. The students watched professional actors improvise numerous Theatresports scenes to demonstrate the skills and techniques of the actor as communicator and as collaborative ensemble member. Then through workshops the students experienced numerous exercises that developed their understanding and knowledge of acting and presenting engaging stories. Such an incredible learning opportunity developed the students’ creative risk-taking abilities to present stories with confidence and joy.
