Kinematics in action

The Year 11 Physics class used some new equipment to conduct experiments to portray a practical demonstration of kinematics in action. The technology enabled us to accurately and precisely determine velocity and acceleration using the Ezilog software and photogates. We were able to conduct these experiments, which gave us an understanding of how to use the equipment and how there are many different reliable ways of conducting an experiment. We have never used this type of equipment before and having this practical component in our lesson enabled us to better understand the relationship between velocity, acceleration and displacement, which is essential as we endeavour further into our study of physics.
