IPSHA ICT Integrators Conference

On August 11, the Primary Campus hosted the IPSHA ICT Integrators Conference. It was a fantastic opportunity to interact with colleagues from other Independent Primary Schools and discuss strategies for integrating ICT into the curriculum. The afternoon kicked off with a brief presentation on ICT at the Primary campus, which covered one to one technology in Year 4 and 5 classes with the use of iPads. Our presentation on Haiku was well received, as participants were curious about the use of Haiku in the classroom, particularly its potential as a parent portal and digital portfolio, as well as an online learning environment for students. Speaker Shireen Ramjahn from Abbotsleigh presented ideas for using ICT to create multimodal texts (combining two or more forms of communication). This was followed by a group sharing session, which covered many aspects of ICT. Topics included interesting apps such as Morfo, encouraging student interest in coding, and the digital curriculum being implemented in 2017. Overall, the afternoon was a successful opportunity to network with ICT integrators from around NSW and share resources, ideas and projects, which eventually make it to the classroom to enrich student learning.
