Long Tan Award for Leadership & Teamwork

Congratulations to Katie of Year 11 and Hannah from Year 10 who are highly deserving recipients of the ADF Long Tan Leadership Award which recognises the attributes of Leadership and Teamwork.

Katie has been an outstanding Teangi House Leader who has led by example through 2011- 2012. She is a gifted communicator who is a member of the victorious Year 11 State Finalist Debating Team.  She has embraced opportunities for teamwork within co-curricular activities and has shown herself to be a collaborative learner. Katie demonstrates impressive initiative in an array of community activities including Homework Help for Sudanese refugees and her recent immersion experience in South Africa. She recently gave the Opening Address at a Community Citizenship Ceremony in Strathfield in which she reflected on what it means to be an Australian citizen in connection with many communities. Hannah is able to motivate others when working on team projects, She is generous, dependable and imaginative. She enjoys working in a group, always using the strengths of each member to complete the task. She has a strong sense of justice and a keen sense of humour which enable her to engage the support of her peers. She can always be relied upon to help those in need. Hannah is also strongly committed to the co-curricular life of the College. We are very proud of both these students.
