Santa Sabina’s famed Year 11 Debaters have won the senior division of the CSDA State Debating Championship for the 3rd time.
Emilia, Olivia, Katie Garsia and Anna, who this year won the Catholic Schools’ Debating Association’s metropolitan competition for the 5th consecutive year in Term 3, debated against Mackillop College Bathurst in the NSW final. This team has been debating and winning together since Year 7.
The girls had the challenging position of affirmative for the topic ‘That we should legalise drugs in sport.’ They developed a strong case, delivered in an eloquent manner. Earlier this year the girls also won the Macquarie University Schools’ Debating Cup (Senior Division). The College community is so proud of the girls and congratulates them for their outstanding success.
