Year 10 accelerated maths students were recently invited to participate in the Inquisitive Minds Talented Mathematicians workshop hosted at Homebush Boys High School. During the day, students were challenged to apply their mathematical knowledge to solve problems in pairs under timed conditions. These problems ranged in difficulty, and points were awarded accordingly.
The competition enabled students to utilise knowledge obtained from maths classes at school as well as develop strong teamwork and communication skills with peers from our own school and students from other schools.
Overall, the experience enhanced our appreciation for mathematics and reinforced the importance of collaboration when it comes to problem-solving.
