Santa Sabina College was honoured to host the Sydney launch of Madonna King’s new book Being 14 on Tuesday night.
Parents were given an insight into the minds of their 14-year-old daughter as well as an understanding of how she may be feeling, what she’s thinking and what they can do to help their fierce teen become an awesome woman.
Madonna King interviewed 200 14-year-old girls across the country, talked to successful school principals, psychologists, CEOs, police, guidance counsellors and neuroscientists to reveal the social, psychological and physical challenges every 14-year-old girl is facing today.
She gave advice to the audience on how much independence girls need, the power of a friendship group, how parents can help build self-confidence and the obsession with selfies, social media and FOMO.
