Year 5 Mini Maestros Instrumental Program

Year 5 Mini Maestros Instrumental Program – Symphony Orchestra Rehearsal

This year each of our Year 5 learners has had the opportunity to learn an orchestral instrument (violin, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, trumpet and trombone). They have been working in small groups with Instrumental Specialists across the year to develop their playing skills and knowledge as part of the Music Curriculum.

Our Year 5 students were very excited to come together for the first time as a grade in Week 2 of this term to form a Symphony Orchestra during our Mini Maestros

Instrumental Session. Enthusiastically led by Mrs Karen Carey and our Instrumental Specialists, all of Year 5 participated in an orchestral rehearsal showing a good understanding of ensemble skills and further developing their solo playing skills. For many of our learners this was the first time they have performed as part of an orchestra and the musical gains and excitement were clear. We look forward to hearing Year 5 join together with other instrumentalists from The College at the Music Awards Ceremony on Wednesday 3 December.
