Our entire community has come together to celebrate the Feast of St Dominic and formally commission Mrs Elizabeth Brooks as Principal of Santa Sabina College. Surrounded by family, friends, colleagues and mentors, Elizabeth embodied this year’s College theme, Accept the Invitation, as she accepted the invitation to lead our community with faith, courage and purpose.
Mrs Brooks rejoined the Dominican family, saying ‘Santa Sabina, you are a community I have known and loved for a long time. I now have the great privilege of learning about you, listening to you and caring for you.
‘As Principal I will continue to learn as I walk alongside you in faith, justice and love.’
We were also honoured to acknowledge the Dominican Sisters whose enduring influence continues to inspire our community today.
The celebrations continued with one of our most cherished traditions, as our Year 12 students crowned St Dominic and danced on Dom’s Plot. This joyful milestone marked their final Dom’s Day as students and the beginning of their journey towards graduation.
The day was filled with faith, tradition and joy, honouring our Dominican heritage.
