As we mark National Reconciliation Week, we share a poignant moment from last year’s ‘Voices of Hope’ Gala Concert. We were honoured to feature Wakka Wakka man Chris Williams alongside our Symphony Orchestra in Peter Sculthorpe’s epic work Earth Cry. Sculthorpe himself described it as ‘a call from the earth, a call to awaken’ – urging us toward deeper listening and truth‑telling.
This year’s ‘Instruments of Peace’ Gala Concert on 23 June is just on the horizon, with works programmed by Barkindji Songwoman Nancy Bates, and the late Ngarrindjeri/ Kukatha/ Pitjantjatjara woman Ruby Hunter and late Gunditjmara and Bundjalung man Archie Roach.
