Personalised Learning: Gifted and Diverse Education Prep to Year 6

At Santa Sabina College, learning begins with understanding each child as an individual. In the early weeks of the school year, our teachers focus on building strong relationships with students while gathering academic and wellbeing insights that help identify every learner’s starting point. This enables us to design learning experiences that are responsive, personalised and appropriately challenging from the outset.

Through ongoing assessment, observation and collaboration, teachers tailor learning pathways to support growth for every student. Students who are ready for greater challenge are extended through enriched learning opportunities, while those requiring additional support receive targeted adjustments and interventions to ensure confidence and success.

Extending High Potential Learners
Our Thomas Aquinas Scholars Program provides specialised extension opportunities for students demonstrating high potential or giftedness. The program nurtures intellectual curiosity, creativity and critical thinking through challenging learning experiences that encourage deep inquiry and independent thinking.

Supporting Diverse Learners
Our Inclusive Learning Program ensures students with additional learning needs are supported through personalised strategies, evidence-based interventions and inclusive classroom practices. Working in partnership with families and teachers, we create supportive environments where students can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

A Balanced Approach to Every Learner
Together, these programs reflect our commitment to gifted and diverse education. By recognising both high potential and individual learning needs, we ensure every student is known, challenged and supported to achieve their personal best.
