Students from Gioia House have achieved outstanding success on the international stage, with two teams delivering exceptional performances at the Junior Ethics Olympiad against schools from Singapore, Hong Kong, New Zealand and across Australia.
Competing in a highly challenging academic competition, students were required to analyse complex ethical dilemmas, think critically under pressure and engage in respectful, reasoned discussion. Throughout the event, our students demonstrated the intellectual curiosity, collaboration and confidence that underpin academic excellence at our School.
The standout result came from the Lavender Team, which was awarded a Gold Medal after impressing judges with the strength of its reasoning, depth of analysis and ability to work collaboratively to build a compelling case.
The Magenta Team also achieved an outstanding result, finishing just behind the third-placed team in a fiercely contested field. Judges commended students across both teams for the maturity of their responses, thoughtful engagement with challenging questions and willingness to consider multiple perspectives.
These achievements reflect months of dedicated preparation, with students committing to weekly training sessions to refine their critical thinking, communication and problem-solving skills.
This success highlights the strength of our academic enrichment programs and the commitment of our students to pursuing excellence beyond the classroom. We congratulate all members of the Lavender and Magenta teams on their outstanding achievement and the way they represented Santa Sabina College on an international platform.
