Outdoor Education

Building Confidence and Environmental Awareness

In Years 5 and 6, students engage deeply in the Tallong Outdoor Education experience through immersive, multi-day programs designed to build independence, resilience and a strong connection to the natural world. These shared experiences strengthen friendships, encourage teamwork and support personal growth through challenge and adventure. Year 6 students also broaden their understanding of civic life through an educational visit to Canberra, exploring key national institutions including Parliament House and Questacon.

Key experiences include:

  • Abseiling, low ropes and flying fox challenges
  • Environmental education and stewardship
  • Cooking on trangias and tent preparation
  • Pastoral reflection and team building
Through challenge, adventure and connection with the natural world, students build confidence, resilience and a strong sense of belonging.
