World first in music

Elizabeth Younan of the Class of 2011 has been awarded a fully funded position at the prestigious postgraduate music school, Curtis Institute of Music, in Philadelphia USA. Elizabeth is the first female Australian composer to attend, and credits her early music education at Santa Sabina as being vital in getting her to this high point of her career so far.

With many commissioned and prize-winning compositions already performed in respected concert halls (including City Recital Hall and Sydney Opera House) and broadcast on national radio, this alumna is already over the threshold of a very promising music career.

Elizabeth visited her alma mater to reconnect with Holyrood and her former teachers. Listen and watch our short video to see what she has to say of her time at Santa Sabina.
