Having recently undertaken a recruitment process to identify a new College Principal, the SSC College Board, with the blessing of the Dominican Sisters, has announced the appointment of Ms Maree Herrett to the position of College Principal, commencing at the beginning of the 2013 school year.
Ms Herrett presently leads the staff and students of MLC Senior School Burwood, Years 9-12 and is a member of the Pre-K-12 School Executive. Ms Herrett is a well recognized educational leader and her academic qualifications include Bachelor of Arts and Graduate Diploma of Education from Sydney University, and a Master of Arts from the University of Western Sydney. Maree has completed a PhD at Sydney University and is awaiting results. In 2010 Maree was awarded a Fellow of the Australian College of Educational Leaders (ACEL).
Maree is no stranger to Santa Sabina as she is an ex-student, former College Leader, past parent and past staff member. During her time on the staff at Santa, Maree held the positions of Director of Curriculum and Coordinator of Senior English.
The past five years have been a significant chapter in the College’s history. Thanks to Ms Clancy’s leadership, Santa Sabina has successfully made the transition from religious to lay leadership and is well positioned now to move to the next phase of its development.
