In 2017 four Santa Sabina students featured on the HSC Top All Rounders List. This list acknowledges students who achieved in the highest performance band in 10 or more units in the HSC.

Each year the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) showcases outstanding student project work in a series of exhibitions and performances. In 2017, 14 exceptional works by Santa Sabina College students of Design & Technology, Drama, Music, Textiles & Design and Visual Art were nominated. Of these, two Visual Arts bodies of work were selected for exhibition in ARTEXPRESS:

COURSE DATA

In 2017 121 Year 12 students and 23 accelerants undertook study in 38 NESA Developed Courses (including one school-based Vocational Education Course). Students also undertook study in one Content Endorsed Course – Religion Catholic Studies.

  • 88 students received a result in the highest band possible for one or more courses and are recognised on the NESA Distinguished Achievers List.
  • 19 of the 23 accelerated students received a Band 6 result on the Distinguished Achievers list with two students receiving two Band 6 results.

  • Santa Sabina students appeared 181 times on the NESA Distinguished Achievers List across 31 Courses.
  • The 2017 results reflect strong performances particularly in:
    • Visual Arts – 100% of the cohort received Band 6 (the highest band)
    • Music 2 – 75% of the cohort received Band 6 (the highest band)
    • Italian Extension – 66% of the cohort received Band E4 (the highest band)
    • Design & Technology – 64% of the cohort received Band 6 (the highest band)
    • English Extension 1 – 58% of the cohort received Band E4 (the highest band)
    • Mathematics – 50% of the cohort received Band 6 (the highest band)
    • Italian Beginners – 50% of the cohort received Band 6 (the highest band)
    • Information Processes & Technology – 50% of the cohort received Band 6 (the highest band)
    • Society & Culture – 44% of the cohort received Band 6 (the highest band)
    • Studies of Religion 1 – 36% of the cohort received Band 6 (the highest band)
    • Mathematics Extension 1 – 34% of the cohort received Band E4 (the highest band)
    • Legal Studies – 33% of the cohort received Band 6 (the highest band).
  • In 14 of the 31 2 Unit Courses studied by SSC students in 2017, 75% or more students achieved in the highest two performance bands.
  • In two 2 unit courses 100% of candidates achieved in the highest two performance bands possible.
  • In four of the seven Extension Courses studied by SSC students 100% of students achieved in the highest two Performance Bands.
  • Santa Sabina College was ranked in the top 50 schools in the state by The Sydney Morning Herald.
