Santa Sabina College is an independent Catholic school catering for students K-12.
The Colleges shares in the Mission of the Church which teaches that the task of education belongs primarily to the family. It is parents who have the primary duties and rights in respect of the education of their children. The College exists to work in partnership with parents who seek a Christian education in the Catholic tradition for their children.
- Santa Sabina College accepts boys and girls K-4, and girls in Years 5- 12.
- Students will be enrolled in any year group should a vacancy occur
- Applications for Student Enrolment into the College are accepted from birth.
- Placement on the Waiting List occurs in chronological order of receipt at the College of the required documentation
At Santa Sabina College there are three stages in the Enrolment Process:
- Application for Student Enrolment – completion of this stage secures a student a place on the Waiting List
- Offer of a place in a particular year – completion of this stage secures the student a place in the College
- Confirmation of Enrolment – the Enrolment Contract is signed and the Acceptance Fee is paid; the student is enrolled in the College and proceeds to Orientation.
Santa Sabina’s identity derives from its heritage and tradition as a Catholic School.
Thus:
- Preference for placement on the Waiting List will be given to intending students who are baptised.
- The College does accept students who are baptized in other Christian faith traditions and those who are from non-Christian backgrounds, if agreement is ascertained that the student will participate in the Religious Education classes, prayer and worship of the College.
How to Enrol at Santa Sabina College
Stage 1: Application for Placement on the Waiting List
Placement on the Waiting List occurs in chronological order of receipt at the College of:
- a completed Student Enrolment Application Form. This may be downloaded from the College website (www.ssc.nsw.edu.au) or by phoning the Enrolment Office on 9745 7030
- Payment of the Application Administration Fee of $99 (this amount is non-refundable, and payable for a maximum of two siblings.
Upon receipt of the above, applicants will receive from the Enrolments Office an acknowledgement of their application and advice concerning placement on the Waiting List.
Neither provision of the above documentation nor payment of the Application Administration Fee will bind the College to enter a final contract for enrolment.
A place on the Waiting List offers no guarantee of enrolment as that depends on vacancies.
In the year prior to commencement at the College, students on the Waiting List will be offered a place; in the case of students entering Year 7, places will be offered 2 years prior to entry.
In the situation where there is a known vacancy in the year for which a student is awaiting an offer of a place, families will be offered the option of securing a definite place in the College by paying a non refundable Acceptance Fee Deposit of $500 within 14 days of the offer being made. This amount will be deducted from the final Acceptance Fee.
In order to confirm the acceptance of the place being offered, the following are required:
- An Enrolment Contract signed by both parents and/or guardian and by the College
- A copy of the student’s latest school report (except for Kindergarten) and any other reports from external assessments, e.g. SNAP, ELLA, BST, as well as any other reports - sight, speech, psychometric testing etc.
Following receipt of all these requirements the application is complete.
The acceptance of the place, provision of documentation and payment of the Acceptance Fee will be acknowledged in writing by the Enrolments Office; this acknowledgement will include a receipt and a copy of the signed Enrolment Contract. Families will also be mailed Family and Student Information Forms for completion within 2 weeks.
In the year prior to the commencement, interviews with the Head of Campus and Orientation Sessions are arranged for the students and parents across all campuses of the College.
Further details regarding the Orientation process will also be provided to families, as will other relevant documentation such as Course Information Booklets.
