VET Courses

Vocational Education is an integral part of the curriculum in Years 11 and 12. 

  • VET courses are accredited by the Board of Studies for the HSC and are under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) for industry.
  • These courses can be studied internally at Santa Sabina or externally at TAFE or through a private provider.
  • Work placement is a mandatory requirement of the Curriculum Frameworks courses offered at the College.
  • All VET courses count as 2 units for the HSC.
  • Only one Frameworks course can be counted towards the UAI calculation.

Santa Sabina College encourages students to include VET courses in their pattern of study where appropriate.

Frameworks Courses can contribute towards calculation of the UAI, provided a student sits the HSC exam in that subject and completes the mandatory work placement.

Frameworks courses offered at Santa Sabina are:

  • Entertainment

Santa Sabina also offers the non-Frameworks course, Multimedia, to students in Years 11 - 12.

Students have the opportunity to study a range of courses which are available through TAFE colleges and other private providers. These courses cover a range of areas including:

  • Welfare
  • Nursing
  • Hairdressing
  • Beauty
  • Aviation
