HSC Top All Rounders

The HSC class of 2007 has continued our long tradition of academic excellence. On behalf of the College community it is our pleasure to congratulate our 165 Year 12 students and 7 accelerants who completed HSC courses in 2007, their families and dedicated teachers.

The wonderful results of our students, who are the first cohort of students to progress through the Middle School endorse both the academic and personal excellence which a Santa Sabina education offers our students. We are a College which is non selective and which embraces a holistic approach to education and life long learning.

Santa Sabina students appeared 167 times on the Distinguished Achievers List across 41 courses. In the Merit List for each subject 8 students have been placed within the top 20 across 9 courses. 78 individual students have achieved a mark above 90 in at least one of their courses. These results are outstanding and reflect the high standards of teaching and learning across all subject areas.

The HSC Top All-Rounders List acknowledges students who achieve a mark of 90 or above in 10 or more units in the HSC. Seven Santa Sabina students appear on this list this year. The subjects which these girls studied are diverse and reflect the College’s commitment to meeting the needs of each individual by offering a breadth of subject choices. Their subjects included Chemistry, Physics and Biology; Mathematics and Extension 1 and 2 Mathematics; Advanced and Extension English; languages such as Italian Extension, Italian Continuers, French Beginners and Japanese Continuers; Economics, Modern History, Design and Technology, Studies of Religion and PDHPE.

All of the students studying in the eight HSC Extension courses offered in 2007 achieved a Band 4 or Band 3, representing the highest possible Performance Bands for HSC Extension courses. Additionally, six Year 11 accelerant students who have this year completed HSC courses achieved in the highest possible Performance Band.

Many of our students have achieved beyond their dreams. We are proud to celebrate and acknowledge their results in the HSC and in so many areas of school life. We look forward to hearing news of them in the future.
