Retreats & Spirituality
The Retreat and Reflection Day experiences are a compulsory aspect of the educational experience of
Santa Sabina College. The Retreats and Reflection days are designed to heighten what is learned in the
curriculum and extend it beyond the classroom especially in areas of Dominican Tradition & Spirituality;
Social Justice Towards Action, and Liturgy.
- Junior Reflection Days are integrated into the Year 4 & 5 Camps, Middle School Camp, Year 8 and
Year 9 Camps. The Year 10 Reflection Day is held at the end of the year.
- Senior Retreats – Year 11 and 12.
- Retreat Days for Parents - opportunities for parents to participate in the Lenten and
Advent programs.
- Professional Development of Staff for Retreat & Reflection Day
Programs to assist members of the College community
- Prayer and Liturgy are essential elements of any spiritual journey and are fostered within
each spirituality program presented.
- Seasons Program – to assist students to manage their experiences of grief and loss.
- The Chaplain and the Director of Retreats and Spirituality Programs undertake pastoral
visitation to families at home or in hospital during times of need.
Santa Sabina College recognises the need to harmonise the busyness of our world with quiet
moments so as to attend to the needs of the spirit. The various Retreat, Reflection Days and
Spirituality Programs that are undertaken by the students, parents and staff give expression to
and are an integral part of the overall Religious dimension of the College.
