Santa Sabina College: A Hidden Jewel

• High degrees of parental satisfaction have been reported for the Primary, Middle and Secondary Schools
• For example, 87% of Middle School parents indicated they were very satisfied with the educational experiences of their daughters

The reasons given by parents for their choice of Santa Sabina College for their children included:

• academic emphasis
• balanced education
• a Catholic education in the Dominican tradition
• the College’s fine reputation.
  

Mr Nicolas Guyatt, Associate Director of Macquarie Marketing Group, has described SSC as ‘hidden jewel’.

His firm was engaged by Sr Judith Lawson OP, previous Principal, to undertake a review of community engagement with the College.

Mr Guyatt reported a high response rate from parents and staff, thus providing strong validity to the data extracted from the surveys.

An experienced practitioner in the evaluation of independent schools, Mr Guyatt was particularly struck by the strength of the College community’s support for the Mission, Religious Education and Social Justice programs.

Additionally, he noted:

• The majority of parents reported that their children’s academic needs were being met
• the College’s Pastoral Care and Co-curricular Programs were rated very highly
•  the programs at Tallong Campus received a remarkably high approval rating, as did the leadership of the College.
  

Ms Kate Clancy, College Principal 2008 believes Sr Judith’s vision in undertaking the review of the College has been highly valuable.

Santa Sabina College has a strong commitment to academic and personal excellence, to nurturing the individual and to the development of leadership and education for justice.
