Speech Night 2014

The 2014 Speech Night at Sydney Town Hall on Monday 17 November was a celebration of excellence across a range of areas and provided the opportunity for the whole school community to farewell our Year 12 cohort. The whole school choir performed a stirring rendition of Ukuthula and the College’s Taiko ensemble performed Tabidachi. Guest Speaker from the class of 1985 was Lieutenant Commander and Deputy Director of Diversity and Inclusion for the Royal Australian Navy Jennifer Macklin. Her address resonated with students and parents alike with her honest and often humorous appraisal of life beyond school. The challenge she presented was that ambiguity and uncertainty can be positive and that we all have a legacy to leave. She invited students to be open to risks, to use their education wisely and to be the voice they wish to see in the world.
